Furl
Furl began with paper. A single sheet rolled rather than folded, curving into a sail-like form that plays with light and shadow.
The number is worked into the surface, hidden in daylight, then glowing through as dusk falls and the lamp comes alive, lighting the way to each table as the evening turns.
Most table numbers on the market are either too basic or don't glow, and none had the elegance we wanted for our wedding. So I designed my own. Organic, clean, and elegant. 3D printed to do two jobs at once: mark the table, and set the mood.
A lamp that keeps a secret. Unlit, its quiet curl reads as a small table sculpture. Lit, it reveals its secret, the number glowing through, lighting the way.

The first prototype taught me its limits. The bottom walls printed too thin, letting light leak where it shouldn't, and the form sat too short to carry the presence I wanted. So I went back to the drawing board, thickening the base to contain the glow and reworking the proportions until it finally stood the way it should.
