
Bean Dose
My coffee station had a gap in the workflow. Single-dose storage means every batch of beans gets weighed and loaded, and every dose needs de-staticizing before it hits the grinder. I was juggling that across containers never meant for the job, nothing weighed cleanly, poured cleanly, and handled RDT process reliably.
An original piece designed from scratch around one specific workflow, now part of the daily routine it was built for.
An hourglass-shaped vessel: wide funnel mouth for catching beans, cinched waist for a controlled one-hand grip, flared base for stability on the scale.

It started with hand sketching, working through silhouettes on paper until the shape felt right. That form was then modeled in Rhino, where the little details, like how much the funnel flared, and the contours of the waist were adjusted before printing. The final version was then 3D printed and tested live in the daily coffee routine, proving out pour control, grip, stability on the scale, and how cleanly it feeds the storage tubes.
